Chain Reaction Tragedy
A limousine airport transfer is a great option for anyone returning home on a late flight and who want to simply relax on the ride home and settle back into their routine. However, for the family in Georgia who were returning from a wedding in Utah and had hired an SUV limousine to take them home from the airport, the ride was just simply a tragedy.
The car, a red Acura which police believe caused the accident, was left in a hotel car park near the crash site. Witnesses saw the car driving too fast along the road and swerving. This is believed to have caused Mark Gay, the chauffeur of the SUV limousine, to swerve too. In swerving away from the dangerous Acura driver, the SUV limousine hit the median and overturned.
Killed in the accident were the chauffeur and three of his passengers, a mother and her two children. The woman’s parents and fiancé were injured, as was another girl also in the limousine. An employee at the hotel near the crash site remembered a man asking around 10 pm the night before, whether he could leave the Acura in the parking lot overnight. The man also left a business card.
Unfortunately it often seems to be the case that the out of control drivers and drunk drivers who cause accidents on the road are able to walk away while innocent victims die and families are shattered. The SUV limousine would have been clearly visible to the out of control driver of the Acura that night. However, with no regard for others’ safety, the driver caused a tragic accident.
While limousine chauffeurs are experienced and highly trained in driving and manoeuvring their often larger than average limousines, very little can prepare them for an out of control driver.
